Welcome to your SoCal UNA-USA Website!  If you’re not already a member, please join today.  Check out your local chapter websites and help us educate, advocate, and grow.

We are at a milestone this summer with the coming merger of UNA-USA into the United Nations Foundation family. Both national boards and the Council of Chapters and Divisions (CCD) of UNA-USA have endorsed moving forward on our strategic alliance. This combining of the UNA-USA chapter base and the UN Foundation advocacy resources is a logical and empowering development for both of our organizations and our ten SoCal chapters. Please see the description of the alliance.
 
Your SoCal Division of UNA-USA works for greater success to:

1. complement/magnify the advocacy activities of our ten local chapters;

2. publicize and promote all chapter events across the region;

3. host quarterly meetings of chapter leaders;

4. represent our chapters on the National Board of UNA-USA and the CCD;

5. sponsor division-wide advocacy/fundraising events;

6. advocate for the UN and UNA agenda across the region;

7. share best practices and speakers among our chapters;

8. build community among the UNA-USA advocates in SoCal;

9. work with like-minded non-profits and service groups in the Southern California Regional Council of Organizations (SCRCO);

10. educate/advocate/fundraise/grow in accordance with our division action plan;

11. assist chapters with challenges; and

12. work through our national UNA-USA office.

Here in SoCal, we continue to work with the Obama Administration’s constructive relationship with the United Nations and advocate/educate regarding human rights.  Many UN treaties are awaiting ratification, two wars will require UN involvement to resolve, climate change is a burning issue, human rights are in jeopardy, and the Millennium Development Goals are behind schedule.   Your active involvement will make a difference. The UNA-USA is helping the UN help the world!
