Welcome Message from Welcome to your SoCal UNA-USA Website! If you’re not already a member, please join today. Check out your local chapter websites and help us educate, advocate, and grow to ‘Help the UN Help the World’. This election year will be exciting for UNA-USA as each of your ten chapters is helping to inspire international understanding and cooperation through the United Nations. Working with you and your chapters, our division is working together to enhance regional support for events, education, advocacy, and growth throughout Southern California and southern Nevada. I look forward seeing you at our local programs in our chapter and SoCal events. For more information, visit our Calendar of Events or check back at our website often. It is up to us to help make U.S. participation in the UN supportive of peace, human rights, environment, health, and women’s rights around the globe. You can make a difference! 2012 BWC/UNA-USA Campaign Briefing Book Congratulations to our newly-elected CCR-SC Regional Representatives!Congratulations to Chris Fennessy, Mel Boynton and David Tuckman, the newly-elected Southern California Regional Representatives to the Council of Chapters and Regions Steering Committee (CCR-SC). They will be installed at the June UNA-USA National Meeting to be held in Washington, DC and begin their two-year terms on the CCR-SC representing Region Eleven effective June 10. Global Broadcast Celebrates Lead Up to
the
30th
Anniversary of the
UN International Day of Peace
Sept 21, 2011
Millions of people around the world, thousands of organizations, and numerous celebrities and musicians will join together on September 21st, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations International Day of Peace. The vehicle for this unprecedented event is the "Peace Day" 2011 Global Internet Broadcast.

Our friend Richard Harris brought passion, energy, and creativity
to
the UNA-USA for 30 years before his death August 19, 2011 at the
age of
86.
Born in Massachusetts, Richard served in the U.S. Navy, WWII, 1943-1946, Atlantic & Pacific theatres; Normandy, France D-Day beach landing, June 6, 1944. Richard had a college and three graduate degrees and was an ordained minister. He leaves his wife Carole, seven children, and nine grandchildren > > > more
